How do I make an Interlibrary Loan request using a citation?

For KSC faculty, staff, students – Requesting an Interlibrary Loan from library home page when you have the full citation.

If you do not have a citation, please go here for instructions on Requesting from a Database Search or e-mail for research guidance. Material found through a database search will automatically fill in the complete citation from your search results.

Once you have a citation login to the Interlibrary Loan request page. (Also available from Mason Library home page - click Interlibrary Loan under Quick Links. On the next page scroll down to Making a request.)

Students, log in with your current NetID and current MyKSC password.
Faculty/staff enter your current NetID and current computer login password.

If you need help with your password, contact or 358-2532.

The ILL login page

The first time you log in you will register for Interlibrary Loan service. Only you can establish your account. You will be notified when we receive your requested item, or if it is not available through ILL.

*Note: Once we have sent a request to other libraries, it will not change status in your online account until we have actually received it. To see the status of any of your requests, click the categories on the left under View.

While logged in you may use your citation to make a new request by clicking Article, Book or Book Chapter.
Under New Request click the correct type to open a request form and fill in as much information as you have. If some information doesn’t seem to belong in any of the fields, you can put it in the Notes section at the bottom.

Article would be for a copy from a periodical, such as a journal, magazine or newspaper.
A Book request would be used for books, CDs, videos, any loan we need to return to the lending library.
Book Chapter is used if you are requesting a copy of part of a book. On the request form, you should enter the Book Title at the top and the Chapter Title and/or Chapter Number in the Chapter Title field.
